February!
Well this month is moving along at a rapid rate! We had a lot of fun this week celebrating the 100th day of school and Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, my camera died on Valentine's day, so I only have photos of the 100th day of school. As we progress through the month, we are focusing a lot of attention on Dr. Seuss and the love of reading he tried to promote throughout his life. Make sure you have helped your child fill out the Dr. Seuss hats and have them return it to school. If you've done this, awesome job! If not, please do so soon or if you have lost this sheet please contact me with for a new one. The vocabulary and spelling words are the same again this week, so please make sure they are studying them. I hope you enjoy your extra time with your family!

Welcome to a new year!
We had quite the battle this week! We had multiple tests to take and Room 14 did a great job putting their heat and soul into doing their best. I am very proud of them! The book exchange is this Friday and if your child hasn't brought in any books yet, you still have until this Thursday to do so (max of 10). This weeks vocabulary words are: morning, shout, found, by, out, show, and climb. This weeks spelling words follow the long O pattern and they are: go, home, nose, so, bone, no, also, and woke. Please practice every night and read 20 minutes or more a day! Keep your eyes out for your child's latest report card, it will be coming home in a few weeks.

The end of November
What a great month Room 14 had! We participated in lots of fun activities and embarked on some great academic adventures! This coming month of December will be short and sweet, but we want to remember to keep good study habits as well as maintaining a strict reading schedule. 20 minutes or more a night is essential in your child's reading development, so please make sure they complete this task every night! In the homework folder this week we have a poem that will need to be memorized by your child, it's called "A Sled for Christmas". It is for our Winter Sharing assembly, which takes place on December 19th! This weeks spelling words deal with U, they are: up, fun, us, cut, but, run, jump, and plum. The key vocabulary words are car, down, hear, hold, hurt, learn, their, walk, and would. Please practice nightly with your child!
