The end of November

What a great month Room 14 had! We participated in lots of fun activities and embarked on some great academic adventures! This coming month of December will be short and sweet, but we want to remember to keep good study habits as well as maintaining a strict reading schedule. 20 minutes or more a night is essential in your child's reading development, so please make sure they complete this task every night! In the homework folder this week we have a poem that will need to be memorized by your child, it's called "A Sled for Christmas". It is for our Winter Sharing assembly, which takes place on December 19th! This weeks spelling words deal with U, they are: up, fun, us, cut, but, run, jump, and plum. The key vocabulary words are car, down, hear, hold, hurt, learn, their, walk, and would. Please practice nightly with your child!

Welcome to a new year!

Hello! Welcome to Room 14's classroom blog. I will be posting pictures and weekly news on our site. This is a great way to catch up with the goings on in the room and to catch some funny pictures of your children. For homework this week your child has three math sheets, a vocabulary practice sheet, and reading minutes to track (this is found on the bottom of the class newsletter). Be sure to practice these words: here, we, find, jump, one, have, to, and who, every night. These are keys words that will show up on this weeks Friday reading test.
