January Continues...

Room 14 is wrapping up the midyear testing and everyone has been working hard at completing the task at hand. I hope to have the results back soon, to see where everyone in the class has improved or areas that need assistance. The vocabulary words this week are: give, good, her, little, try, was, fly, and our. This weeks spelling list deals with long i and silent e words, they are: like, five, ride, nine, time, kite, prize, and smile. Be sure to practice nightly it really pays off on test day. Some upcoming events are the Book exchange and the permission slips for Olympia Junior Programs. The Book Exchange takes place on January 27 and each student is allowed to bring in 10 or less books that are in good condition to replace with 10 new books. Feel free to have your child go through the family library and see if there are any books you can part with for this awesome event. For the permission slips, I would like them returned as soon as possible so your child will not miss out on the two field trips we take to the Theater. I hope you enjoy the extra time with your children this weekend!

Welcome Back!

What a great start to the new year! It was a very productive week for Room 14 and we were able to quickly get back to normal work. I am proud to say that this past week went very smoothly and I was impressed on the number of students who worked hard on their homework over Winter Break. This weeks words to practice are: could, house, how, over, own, so, and world. This weeks spelling words deal with long a and silent e words. We will be spending a great deal of time on them during our school work week, they are: make, came, take, name, gave, game, place, and skate. Please be sure to work with your child nightly and encourage them along the way. I hope everyone has had a great start to the new year!
