New Post!

The Room 14 Blog is back! We have some great stuff coming up! This week is B.E.A.R. week or Be Excited About Reading. There are multiple activities that the student's will be involved with and if you're wondering what, there is information in this week homework folder. We are also trying a new behavior modification tool called Classdojo. We are very excited about using this tool and information about this was also sent home in the homework folder. I have provided a log-in code for you and your child to access the site and see how well they are doing! At the end of May will be our end of the year field trip to the Hands on Children Museum. We are looking for adults who would like to be group leaders, so please contact me if you can make the event. This weeks spelling list is quite challenging the words are: dishes, dresses, boxes, beaches, wishes, kisses, classes, and brushes. This weeks vocabulary words are: after, before, buy, pretty, school, done, off, and wash. Please be sure to practice nightly and read for thirty minutes a day!

February!

Well this month is moving along at a rapid rate! We had a lot of fun this week celebrating the 100th day of school and Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, my camera died on Valentine's day, so I only have photos of the 100th day of school. As we progress through the month, we are focusing a lot of attention on Dr. Seuss and the love of reading he tried to promote throughout his life. Make sure you have helped your child fill out the Dr. Seuss hats and have them return it to school. If you've done this, awesome job! If not, please do so soon or if you have lost this sheet please contact me with for a new one. The vocabulary and spelling words are the same again this week, so please make sure they are studying them. I hope you enjoy your extra time with your family!

Welcome to a new year!

We had quite the battle this week! We had multiple tests to take and Room 14 did a great job putting their heat and soul into doing their best. I am very proud of them! The book exchange is this Friday and if your child hasn't brought in any books yet, you still have until this Thursday to do so (max of 10). This weeks vocabulary words are: morning, shout, found, by, out, show, and climb. This weeks spelling words follow the long O pattern and they are: go, home, nose, so, bone, no, also, and woke. Please practice every night and read 20 minutes or more a day! Keep your eyes out for your child's latest report card, it will be coming home in a few weeks.
