The end of a great month!

What a week Room 14 had! B.E.A.R. week was a huge success and everybody in class enjoyed the fun activities that they got to participate in. We were also lucky enough to have four winners drawn at the Friday assembly and two of them won scooters! I will have some pictures of the class reading with their bears up next week. This weeks vocabulary words are: watched, together, garden, sharp, baby, edge, only, and enough. This weeks spelling words deal with the oi/oy sound, they are: coin, soil, boy, oil, toy, point, moist, and destroy. Please be sure to practice all week! If you have any questions about making a summer reading list, please contact me. I sent multiple ordering sheets home in this weeks folder to help you get set for the summer months.

Mid-way through April...

What a fun week for Room 14! We had a lot of fun with some various art projects, like symmetrical butterflies, spring flowers, and using glue instead of markers to trace an outline. We even fit time in to paint! This coming week is B.E.A.R. week (Be Excited About Reading) and it would be greatly appreciated if you could help your child fill out their bear book mark. We are having a reading minutes challenge Monday through Wednesday on how many minutes they can read with the T.V. off. Its all explained in the letter that came home in the homework folder. This weeks vocabulary words are: after, before, buy, pretty, school, done, off, and wash. This weeks spelling words deal with es endings and they are: dishes, dresses, boxes, beaches, wishes, kisses, classes, and brushes. Be sure to practice nightly and next week I will be sending home more book orders to help assist you with building a summer reading curriculum for your child.
